
During the 1970s, a young Mr Ngo Meng Nguen grew up working in his mother's Joo Heng Coffee Shop along South Bridge Road. It was during this period which he picked up the trade of running a food business and conceived the idea of one day establishing his own eatery.

In 1983, upon the completion of the Chinatown Food Complex, an entrepreneurial Mr Ngo successfully balloted the final stall in the Complex to establish Xing Long Food Stall. With blessings and $2000 from his mother as startup capital, Mr Ngo went on to build Xing Long into a family business.
Today, as Mr Ngo's 2 sons learn the trade of running the family business, the family remains steadfast and committed to delivering quality zichar cuisine to the community.
Over the decades, Mr Ngo and Chef Mr Doong Nen Cai have innovatively created new dishes and refined their recipes to improve on their cuisine. More importantly, Xing Long have forged a strong bond with the Chinatown community through genuine hearts to serve people with quality food.
